ERP Systems were mainly created to create a hub of information of the business which can also work as a bridge between any communication gaps in a company. For large companies, keeping track of hundreds of employees even can be a very difficult task.

For an efficient business environment, employees need to be in contact with each other constantly. This helps reduce time wastage between operations and is smoothed out perfectly with ERP Systems.

An ERP Software helps with this by creating a singular hub of information relating to the company. Your Cloud ERP can be accessed from anywhere and would contain all financial and management details of the business.

To smooth out communication between employees, ERP Systems act as a database that is shared between the company. All users of the ERP ( i.e. employees) can access this and stay acknowledged. With good ERP Systems, like CISERP, this is further helped with the option of Real Time Tracking.

Real Time Tracking in an ERP software will keep updating the database on every input. This helps the information to be more useful to users when accessing it.

Privacy Concerns in ERP Systems

While ERP Systems help a business with smooth and easy management, there are some aspects that should always be taken care of. One of these aspects is the access allowance to users.

A company’s real time data shared between multiple users is a comforting idea, as it improves productivity and efficiency. However, losing this data to an unauthorized person would be a big risk to the business.

Thankfully, most popular ERP Systems handle this obstacle pretty well by adding good security to the Cloud ERP.

CISERP secures the database by protecting data through passwords and different user rights.

User rights are the limits to what a specific user can see in an ERP Software. These rights are given to users by assigning roles.

Roles help limit a user’s ability to use a web-based ERP, and minimizes the risk of any misuse of the company’s data information, keeping it safe and secure.

Creating a Hierarchy of Roles in ERP Systems

A modern ERP software will always provide the client with an option of assigning roles.

These roles can be assigned by the hierarchical position of employees. For management, this is an easy way to help understand which user needs which information.

For instance, the CFO of a company needs to be acknowledged about everything in the company. This would mean their role would have no limitations to the ERP.

Following that, a District Manager may only be responsible for limited aspects of the business. This means their role can be limited as such they’re not able to access the Reporting Module of the ERP.

Coming down to the chain of command, a Sales Manager needs to be acknowledged about everything related to Sales in the business. Any other information to that user is useless and can cause a risk. Thus, a Sales Manager’s role would only be able to access the Sales and Accounts Receivable Module.

In this way, ERP Systems can ensure employees have all the information they need to carry out their responsibilities, but at the same time, there is no risk of unauthorized access to the single shared ERP database.
